Anthropic Secures $30B Series G Funding Round, Valuation Soars to $380B

Anthropic has successfully closed a $30 billion Series G funding round, marking a significant milestone in the AI industry's investment landscape. The AI research company announced the raise on Thursday, bringing its post-money valuation to an impressive $380 billion—more than doubling its previous Series F valuation of $183 billion.

The oversubscribed round was co-led by Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC and global investment management firm Coatue, with participation from a consortium of prominent institutional investors. Co-leading investors include:

• D. E. Shaw Ventures
• Founders Fund (Peter Thiel)
• MGX (Abu Dhabi)

Additional strategic investors in the round include Accel, General Catalyst, Jane Street, and the Qatar Investment Authority, among other notable institutional backers.

This substantial capital injection positions Anthropic competitively in the increasingly heated AI enterprise market, where the company directly competes with OpenAI for market share and mindshare. The timing is particularly notable as OpenAI is reportedly pursuing an additional $100 billion funding round that could value the company at approximately $830 billion.

"Whether it is entrepreneurs, startups, or the world's largest enterprises, the message from our customers is the same: Claude is increasingly becoming more critical to how businesses work," stated Krishna Rao, Anthropic's Chief Financial Officer. "This fundraising reflects the incredible demand we are seeing from these customers, and we will use this investment to continue building the enterprise-grade products and models they have come to depend on."

The funding will be allocated toward advancing Anthropic's enterprise-grade AI models and expanding its product suite to meet growing enterprise demand for its Claude AI assistant platform.
