Didero Secures $30M Series A to Revolutionize Manufacturing Procurement with Agentic AI Automation
Tim Spencer identified the critical challenges inherent in manufacturing procurement operations while leading Markai, an e-commerce venture in Asia, throughout the pandemic period. "We managed thousands of suppliers while distributing products across dozens of international markets," Spencer explained. His team struggled with the manual complexity of supplier sourcing, price negotiations, order tracking, and payment processing. "I found myself managing a large team that lacked the proper infrastructure for operational success," he noted. Following Markai's acquisition in 2023, Spencer recognized that generative AI technologies could address the most resource-intensive procurement bottlenecks for manufacturers and distributors.
Later that year, Spencer co-founded Didero alongside Lorenz Pallhuber, a McKinsey procurement practice veteran, and Tom Petit, former technical co-founder of Landis. The company's mission centers on automating the complexities of global procurement workflows.
Didero has successfully closed a $30 million Series A funding round, co-led by Chemistry and Headline, with strategic participation from Microsoft's venture arm M12.
"Global trade infrastructure operates predominantly through natural language communication channels," Spencer stated. "This includes email correspondence, WeChat messaging, phone calls, purchase orders, and packing lists." Prior to generative AI emergence, these fragmented data points required human oversight, with personnel dedicating significant time to supplier coordination and manual system updates. Didero's platform is engineered to ingest these communications, enabling substantial automation of procurement workflows.
The platform functions as an agentic AI orchestration layer that integrates with existing ERP systems, serving as an intelligent coordinator that processes incoming communications and automatically executes corresponding updates and tasks. "Our objective is to streamline the entire procurement lifecycle—from initial requirement identification to final payment—without manual intervention," Spencer emphasized.
Didero differentiates itself from solutions like Levelpath, Zip, or Oro Labs, which leverage AI for corporate purchasing optimization. Instead, Didero specializes in supply chain procurement, targeting manufacturers and distributors requiring raw materials and input components for production or distribution operations.
While the company faces competition from platforms such as Cavela and Pietra, which assist brands with manufacturer sourcing and price negotiations, Spencer notes these solutions primarily serve SMB segments and lack comprehensive procurement process coverage—from initial quotation through final payment processing.
Didero has onboarded dozens of enterprise clients, including Footprint, a provider of sustainable, plant-based packaging solutions.
